About PAUSD

The PhD Association at the University of Southern Denmark (PAUSD) was established in March 2017 with the goal to:

  • Represent PhD students from SDU at the national level (PAND)
  • Give PhD students a common voice
  • Create a safe and welcoming forum for discussing any issues that affect PhD students and Postdocs
  • Provide a way to meet PhD students from other parts of the university
  • Organise both academic events and social get-togethers for PhD students and Postdocs
PAUSD currently consists of a board of a bunch of your favourite peeps, representing different faculties, who are all current PhD students. The board is elected at the general assembly every year, and consists of at least 6 members + an observatory member from the library. All PhD students are automatically members of PAUSD and the membership is free of charge.

Since our inception, PAUSD has been involved in a number of projects, such as establishing a panel event about the working culture in academia, a "My PhD for dummies" event where PhD students could shortly present their theses in front of other PhDs, as well as monthly bar evenings and lunches.

We are always looking for new ideas of how we can be of service to PhD students and Postdocs at SDU, so please get in touch!
